Hermanson Center
The Center, which contains Harper-McNeeley
Auditorium, was completed in 1976. The recreational and educational
facility contains a swimming pool, a Nautilus fitness center (the
Iron Horse Fitness Center), and the Outdoor Resource Center (ORC).
Harper-McNeeley Auditorium has a seating capacity of 1,300 and is
large enough for college assembly and meetings involving the entire
student body. It is the largest performance hall in the region.
The Fine and Performing Arts–Music, Art and Theatre–have
facilities in the building, and the Samuel O. and Celeste W. Paull Gallery allows space for
viewing special works. The Hermanson Center is named in honor of former President
Gordon E. Hermanson, while the Auditorium is named in memory of
John O. McNeeley, a 1932 graduate of the college, and Nell Harper
McNeeley, generous benefactors of the college.
