The easiest way to apply to Davis & Elkins College is to complete our on-line application or Click on WV Mentor. Or you can get a hard copy of the application by clicking here for a printable version of the Application for Admission or by calling our Admissions Office, toll-free, at 1-800-624-3157, or collect, at 1-304-637-1230 or sending an e-mail request to admiss@davisandelkins.edu. Speaking to one of our professional Admission counselors for assistance with your form or to get answers to your specific questions. PLEASE NOTE: Admission requirements vary based on whether you are a first-year student, a transfer student or an international student.An interview with a member of the admissions staff is strongly encouraged prior to the admissions process.

 

 

First-Year Student Admission Requirements

 

Arrange that the following items be sent to the Admissions Office:

  • A completed application form with $35 non-refundable application fee
  • An official transcript and a statement of graduation from your high school or evidence of a Graduate Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • An official copy of either SAT or ACT results

Transfer Student Admission Requirements

 

Arrange that the following items be sent to the Admissions Office

  • A completed application form with $35.00 nonrefundable application fee
  • An official transcript from all colleges or universities you have attended
  • An official high school transcript or evidence of a Graduate Equivalency Diploma (GED)

 

International Student Admission Requirements

 

International students seeking admission to Davis & Elkins College must possess academic preparation equivalent to an American high school diploma and command of the English language sufficient to participate in a full program of study. If English is a second language, a paper based TOEFL (PBT) score of 500 or a computer based TOEFL (CBT) of 173 is required for unconditional acceptance to the College.

Any student who has achieved a PBT score of 457–499 or a CBT Score of 137-172 may be admitted on a conditional basis if all other entrance requirements are met. Students admitted on condition will be required to enroll in LAN 102, English as a Second Language. Students with a TOEFL score below 450 are encouraged to enroll in the International Language Institute (ILI), hosted by Davis & Elkins College. ILI provides intensive English language instruction in preparation for full admission. For ILI information go to www.transemantics.com.

Students who are not American citizens and wish to enroll at Davis & Elkins College must meet the following requirements for admission:

  • An official transcript(s) in English, indicating the student's secondary school work and college work if appropriate.
  • An official copy of the TOEFL examination results. An ACT or SAT test result may be substituted for the TOEFL results.
  • A completed international student application.
  • A completed international student certification of finaces form along with a current bank statement.
  • All international students requiring an I-20 must have all forms completed and turned in by May 30th for fall admission and September 30th for spring admission.

International students seeking admission should be referred to Matt Summers in the Office of Admission.

An I-20 can only be issued once the student has been granted acceptance, official documentation of financial support has been received, and a $200 non-refundable deposit has been made. The deposit will reserve the students' place in the incoming class.
