When should you get the paperwork together and file your applications? The FAFSA can NOT be filed before January 1, but should be filed shortly after that date. Your chances of receiving aid from Davis & Elkins are better if you file before May 1. [If you are a resident of West Virginia, you need to file before March 1 if you hope to qualify for a West Virginia State Grant] (Which we strongly recommend you do.)
