The corner stone of the building was set on June 25, 1925, amid elaborate ceremony, featuring speaker H.G, Kump, future governor of West Virginia. The red brick modified Georgia style building was dedicated in a day-long ceremony held on June 4, 1926. Proceeds from the sale of collectible ornaments benefit student scholarships.
