Community Service

Community Service at Davis & Elkins College intends to provide opportunities for students both to broaden as well as to deepen their learning and to experience a taste of tradition as well as experimentation.

Volunteer opportunities in Community Service will offer situations in which students might demonstrate social responsibility, develop communication skills, think critically and creatively, apply learning to new and changing situations, continually expand knowledge and understanding and in certain experiences to also exercise leadership.

Practical, hands-on learning in the local and surrounding areas certainly contributes to a student's ability to understand more fully the concept of social responsibility as they volunteer in service to the Elkins community.

Davis & Elkins College is committed to providing the coordinating effort between the area organizations and our students as we seek to provide opportunity for volunteer learning in the community in which the college resides.
