Open Mic Night     (at 10 PM on the first Wednesday of every month, students take the to read or perform their own work)

Writers' Week     (each spring, a renowned writer visits campus to lead writing workshops and classroom sessions)

English Department get-togethers     (on campus, or at the home of a faculty member, we try to get together regularly as students and professors to discuss readings, courses, books, and other departmental issues)
