The faculty and staff of the D&E Theatre Program are a group
of dedicated professionals determined to assist their students
in producing the best theatre within their means. Coming together
with a diverse background of professional, academic and community
theatre experience, the faculty and staff work to give the student
artist toward a successful career in the theatre arts.

Terry provides the program and his students with 31 years of teaching
and design experience. Giving his students his vast knowledge
in fields ranging from Lighting Design and Stagecraft to Theatre
History, he empowers them with the tools to pursue active careers
in the ever-expanding world of theatre. Terry not only provides
instruction in the classroom but also in the main stage productions
as a director and designer. When he is not in the classroom or
at rehearsals, you can find him serving as the Chair of the Fine
and Performing Arts Department.

A native of Florida, April Daras joins the faculty of Davis and
Elkins College as an experienced teacher, director and actor.
For the past ten years, she has
taught acting, voice, movement, improvisation and directing at
the primary, secondary and college levels, and directed a range
of productions within the
educational and community arena. As an actor, April has worked
professionally at Theatre Southeast, New Theatre (Coral Gables),
The Caldwell Theatre and
Florida Stage. She has been active in the development of new work
and was a member of Theatre With Your Coffee, a Florida-based
company dedicated to exploring and producing new scripts.

As an alumnus of the D&E Theatre program, Tom is happy to
be working in the Boiler House once again. Tom has served as a
Technical Director or Scene Designer for several professional
theatre companies including The Heritage Repertory Theatre Company,
The Municipal Opera Association of St. Louis and the New Lyric
Theater Company. Through his continuing professional experience,
Tom brings his students a knowledge scenic design and technology.
As a Vice-Commissioner in the United States Institute for Theatre
Technology and an active member of the Southeastern Theatre Conference,
Tom introduces his students to the real world of theatre production.

Costumer Susan Hayes
Costume Shop Manager
B.A. Davis & Elkins College 1986
Working
one on one, Susan is able furnish students with skills and knowledge
that can only come from 25 years of professional seamstress experience.
As the Costume Shop Manager and Department Costume Designer, she
creates the world of the production through clothing. Characters'
background and history come to life through her magic of needle
and thread.
