Technical Services Coordinator

A full-time Technical Services Coordinator position is available to internal as well as external applicants.  

JOB SUMMARY: Supervises and administers all aspects of library technical services including: ordering, receiving, and maintaining records for materials acquired by the library; cataloging of library resources in all formats, including monographs, serials, audiovisuals, microforms and electronic media; managing a Federal Library Depository Program in compliance with the U.S. Code and Instructions to Depository Libraries. Participates in evening and weekend rotations at the circulation desk.

PREREQUISITES/EDUCATION:  Baccalaureate degree required. Master’s degree in Library and/or Information Science or library experience preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS:  Familiarity with library technical services operations; excellent organizational and communications skills; experience with OCLC software; knowledge of library cataloging rules and procedures (AACR2 and evolving metadata standards), Library of Congress Subject Headings, and Library of Congress Classification System; familiarity with Microsoft software such as Windows and Office; familiarity with library automated systems; and experience with the Innovative system or willingness to undergo training.
