The Potomac Highlands and surrounding territories in West Virginia contain many federal, state, and private fishing and hunting areas.   Probably the most notable is the Monongahela National Forest. Avid sportsmen (and women) in these specialties know they are in "Almost Heaven" when exposed to the bounty of wildlife existing here.

The principle game and fish managers for these areas are The West Virginia Department of Natural Resources and the Monongahela National Forest Service.  There are two brochures that are "a must" for anglers and hunters.  They are the " 1998 West Virginia Fishing Regulations", and the "1998 West Virginia Hunting and Trapping Regulations" brochures.  They are published by the Division of Wildlife Resources Department of Natural Resources.
