Beyond the Traditional Classroom Experience
Many people think of the college experience taking place in the classroom and laboratory. While this is true, a great deal of learning also takes place beyond the traditional classroom ... in the residence halls, on the athletic fields and courts, while participating in student organizations or planning student-centered events. The Office of Student Life coordinates many activities and opportunities for students to use the knowledge they gain in the classroom and to explore their personal limits in many areas.
College years, no matter if during the traditional period of life or in later years, are set aside for learning, trying and experiencing new ideas. The best way to do this is to be very involved while at Davis & Elkins. No one should attend D&E without some level of involvement beyond the classroom. That involvement can take many forms. If you are uncertain about how to be involved or what opportunities are available, contact the Office of Student Life in Jennings Randolph Hall.
